As part of our preliminary work we had to created something containing a photo and text, in my case I decided to make a movie poster as I am a lover of films.
I created two posters as I was indecisive regarding the style I wanted to incorporate.
The process was a little more difficult than I had expected, finding and taking the right photo and then editing it to fit the genre of the movie was difficult, editing the photo proved to be a challenge as it needed to fit the conditions of an average poster size, making one of the photos in a poster slightly pixelated.
One of the genres presented is a psychological horror/thriller, inspired by the movie Suspiria, although the movies poster is not related to Suspiria it is inspired by its strange and fearful experience.
The one in black and white is my creation, and while some might see it as lacking creativity, it is intended to be dreadfully simple, one cannot understand what exactly is going on, it intrigues people, making them curious about what is going to happen to the girl, what exactly is her purpose?
The black and white photo was taken outside, on a porch. The original photo looks much different , I edited the photo in Photoshop and then made it black and white.
The original photo wasn't the best quality, however I liked the hair of the model, and the dark turtle neck she was wearing.

Suspiria is all over the place in its poster, this is important to its story line however, the genre for my movie poster would be primarily mystery with hints of psychological horror.
The other poster I created is not as appealing as the other, it seems more like a cheaply produced horror/mystery film, however the photo is clearer than that of the psychological horror. A cheaply produced film is still a film so I decided to include it anyway. It reminds me of movies in the early 2000s usually do to with werewolves or the supernatural.
The photo for this poster was taken outside, in the winter, in the snow. The model wore make-up in order to appear bruised and the costume she is wearing is meant to ask questions, as she seems to be in some sort of uniform.
The blurry image makes the model seem even more disoriented and confused.
There is no real information about the movies release day or other movie poster conventions, this is because the poster is supposed to be merely promotional, a sort of teaser before the actual promos and trailers.
This is the original photo.

The photo was edited, taking away the red in her eyes and a filter was added to make the photo seem darker.
