I often listen to podcasts, so I wanted to create one as if I have a weekly podcast and this weeks topic just happens to be a reflection and summary of the distribution and production of my magazine Femme Fatale.
I added my recording to an online platform called Clyp, where audiences can listen to updates and changes coming to future issues of the magazine.

Below are both my answers in essay format.
How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
The magazine would be available in stores and bookstores as it is conceptual and can be read as a book as well, at the end of the magazine there is a Instagram page where the audience can go and continue to learn about the subject, on the Instagram page there would be hashtags relating to self-love as many are interested in this subject nowadays.
Campaigns can be posters throughout cities and a website where the magazine can be bought in either print form or online - both will be available.
In the table of contents there is a question asking ‘How do you love yourself?’, the audience can respond to this question through Instagram using the hashtag #lovingafemmefatale, there would also be a chat room/query section on the website where this can be answered and audiences can give their answers and learn new methods from other audiences, this question would change with every new edition/issue.
The demographic for this magazine would range from 15 to 25 years of age, as these are the more likely candidates to be interested in such a topic, they are also the most likely to find the magazine through Instagram or other online platforms.
The psychographic for the magazine would be millenials and most likely liberals, people who are interested in changing the world, caring about politics, the environment and themselves, their values would be open-minded and open for interpretation, their lifestyle might be stressful and exciting, which might be a reason for reading the magazine.
The magazine engages with the audience as it is a relatable topic. All audiences want to be able to read a magazine and relate to it, showing stories of hurt and recovery, teenagers especially who might suffer from eating disorders or anxiety and depression might be looking for a way to communicate with others suffering from the same problems - it is not meant to cure anyone but it to inform people on the psychological benefits of caring for oneself. The magazine would represent all social groups including minorities, men and women, the disabled and so on.
Analyzing other magazines beforehand provided me with inspiration and knowledge on how to efficiently create a magazine. Looking at examples of other magazine taught me some of the conventions of a magazine, such as on average how many pages does a magazine have, what the table of contents should look like and so on.
How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
The softwares I used for my magazine include Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, however for creating the magazine I mostly just used InDesign and Illustrator.
I used Illustrator for the Masthead of my magazine, I designed it in Illustrator, it was very useful as my Masthead wasn’t necessarily difficult to make, however the program was easy to use, it took me a few tries before reaching my final design but my final design turned out how I wanted it to, in total it probably took me around 2 hours to reach my final masthead design after many tries.
I attempted to use Photoshop a few times in order to edit photos, however I ended up using my phone to edit the photos as Photoshop seemed to be difficult for me to use, the app I used was VSCO, as I had previously used it, however I did not need to edit my photos that much, as most of them were left unedited in order to fit the theme of my magazine.
I used InDesign for designing the magazine as a whole, putting all the photos, text and designs together. InDesign was very helpful because I wouldn’t have been able to create my magazine without it, it was fairly easy to use, after learning the basic tools I could use it without any problem.
As for hardware, I used my photo camera to take the photos, except for 2 of the photos, which were taken in Dubai, I didn’t have a photo camera on the trip so those photos were taken on my phone, my phone was also used to edit some of the photos. The other device I used was my laptop, which was used to assemble and design the magazine.
To conclude, having access to these tools was essential to my project, as without tools such as InDesign or VSCO or the ability to use a professional photo camera, creating my magazine would have been very difficult, it was not easy as creating the magazine took me around 2 weeks in total to complete, I did not work on it everyday, when I would work on it I would spend around 2 hours working, it took many tries to reach a design that I like, I changed the double-spread 3 times, and continued changing the table of contents and positioning the cover photo correctly, however having access to the proper tools and the internet for research, such as analyzing other magazines was very helpful.
